Arm & Elbow Injuries
Strength and stability is a key goal for exercise. Whether it’s lifting, swimming, sparring, or catching or throwing; arms workouts are central to every regimen.
Failing to warm or pace your exercise correctly can produce tendonitis, golf and tennis elbow, or even risk a proximal humeral fracture. Failing to warm or cool down can also contribute to ongoing conditions such as arthritis.
But two leading factors can cause damage.
Overloading: Remember that grains should always be gradual. If you are significantly increasing weight, take time to stop, assess, and determine if the increase is acceptable.
Repetition: Repetitive action places unnecessary strain on joints, muscles, and ligaments. Make sure that you vary your regime. If pain does occur, stop immediately and assess the situation.
